Post subject: Strange PUP wiring on MPC x940

I have a late 70s early 80 s MPC. The wiring diagram shows that each pick up should have 3 wires connected to the switch. The 2 pickups I have in the guitar have a ink stamps 45 on the back but they only have two wires in the cable, I owned this guitar sold it and bought it back. The neck pickup was pulled and replaced with a SD pup I believe. I have the original neck pup but am confused on how to wire them to the switch with only 2 wires. Any ideas?

MMKs are fairly inconsistent over the years; can you share some more specific details? Wiring color first and foremost would be very helpful, but also, to clarify, do you mean "2 wires" as in 2 different colored leads (example; one white and one red) plus ground?
