Anyone know what pickups these came with?
I have 2 MMK 45s but I don't think they had the same pickup in both spots...
I think I'm actually going to try to get this vulcan I got from the Electraman put together and working before the next electrafest....

The Electra's I've owned have had the same pickup in both positions, even though we know that the bridge pickup should be more powerful to compensate for the string vibrations (strings vibrate further in the neck position). Nowadays that is pretty standard, but at the time that is how they made them. Good luck wiring it up, all the MPC's I've had were already working so I never had to figure out the wiring harness on them.

I haven't been on the forum for a while, but the vulcan models had different manufacturers for certain models. If it has a small inlay logos, those tend to be Matsumoku made and have MMKs (I don't recall if 45s or 53s or if there is a mixture or if it depends on the year). Some with the larger electra inlaid logo are not Matsumoku made - I think they are Kasuga. They don't have MMK pickups, they have dual open coil pickups that look like the MMKs but they are made by someone else in japan at that time - and are have less winding and output - they measure around 8K instead of closer to 11.5K of the MMKs. They are very good vintage output/traditional sounding humbucking pickups though. I don't know who made them - Gotoh possibly? I could not see markings. But I knew other guitars that had similar from that time period from Japan (for instance, the nicer Washburn series guitars such as the A20 and Hawk).
