Using B-E-A-D strings on OutLaw x620, This 4 string Sounds better than any 5 string I've ever Owned for sure

I'm new here but I been playing bass near 40 years now, during the 70's and where I lived there was nothing but Fender & Gibson over shadowed all other Guitars and Basses, I had seen a few electra guitars but not any basses, the musicians I hung around were into name brand if japan made came up they would get on other subject, I played a 4 string bass then a Gibson ripper, which was fine but as time went by I needed to go lower than an open E I even detuned my strings. As time went by I went from playing blues and jazz/funk to starting playing gospel and church music as part time gig. When the 5 string Bass came along I started playing 5 strings Roscoe, Modulus, MM etc. Playing 5's was great once I got used to it because of the wider and/or longer neck, but having the B string allowed me to play low enough. I happen to purchase a OutLaw x620 off eBay I really didn't know what I had, it looked solid from top to bottom with brass nut which I filed tiny bit, it had dents and dings, rusted tuners, bubbling bridge. Well I added foam to mute bridge and switch strings, neck didn't move a bit, B string tunes up better than any B string I tuned before no over/under. This bass plays and sounds better than any bass I have ever played in my life, don't get me wrong I've heard alot of basses sounding great. what I'm saying is I've never owned a bass that sounds this great from the 70's, and plays to me better than the high dollar basses I had owned during that time. My Electra may not look high dollar but it is high dollar quality, rock solid notes thick and tight, the 5 way selector switch helps in how thin of a sound I want, my mpc adds color. I never knew this kind of quality was being put out by Electra. I wish I could have gotten one when new but Better late than never. ELECTRA is # 1 in MY BOOK!
