I have come to own a black LP copy that is a Lark brand - but I cant seem to find any information it. It is super fun guitar, it sounds good and plays good, but the build quality leaves much to be desired.

If anyone know anything, it would be much appreciated.

I know that yahoo answers is about as unreliable as the internet gets but here is an answer that has the ring of truth. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 526AAk3fjb

I have some memory of Lark guitar being copies available around where I grew up in NJ. That would make sense with the idea that they were a from a Philly based distributor.

Thanks. I hadnt seen that post. There is not a lot of information on them out there. I have read that they were imported by a company in Philadelphia and that seems to be legit. But I have read that they were made in Japan and that they were made in Korea. I lean toward Korea myself.

Same memory from another Jersey guy. My recollection is they were somewhat cheesy knock offs. I was much more of a guitar snob in the 70's and 80's and if it wasn't Gibson, Fender or Ibanez I had a jeer and a sneer all prepared.
